What FNAS Was
We were born as a Federation of artists, with the aim of recognizing the artistic, social, and professional dignity of art forms placed in public spaces: from street art to street performance.
For over 20 years, we have contributed to fueling public debate, representing the sector's demands, producing documents and regulatory proposals, and telling all the multifaceted aspects of this world. At the same time, we offered promotion services, support for artists, and co-planning for actions in various territories.
This entire history still pulses vibrantly on the pages of www.fnas.it.
What the Former FNAS Is Today
The association has formally changed its name to Outdoor Arts Italia ETS, but from the outside, it still looks the same? It's true! The work needed to steer the association towards its new role is vast, ambitious, and for now, still mostly behind the scenes. The old website www.fnas.it remains active and operational as is for now. At the end of the year, it is scheduled for a makeover to better align with the new goals.
The F in Federation now signifies something different: FNAS becomes the National Focus of Street Arts and will be a theme specific project. Its mission remains to continue the work of representation and advocacy for policies on artistic expression in public spaces, but with more shared goals with artists, greater freedom in proposing themes and participating in public debate, and above all, a more inclusive nature.
What OUTDOOR ARTS ITALIA ETS Will Be
Outdoor Arts Italia ETS is already fully operational as a third-sector entity registered with RUNTS, a necessary form to allow the association to fully assume its responsibilities. It aims to acquire a structure capable of becoming, in Italy and worldwide, the development and promotion agency for the artistic sector of outdoor arts that Italy still lacks. There are plenty of reference models in Europe, and these are the ones it draws inspiration from.
The website www.outdoorarts.it, already operational for managing the administrative aspects of membership, will be a complete and innovative digital platform (Out It) by 2025. It will host increasingly advanced services (online courses, sector events, a shared marketplace, specific consultancy...) and a directory for direct dialogue with Italian and international festival organizers, with specific tools to facilitate connections and the circulation of their performance proposals.
And that's not all! Outdoor Arts Italia will also shape a continuous program of promoting artistic mobility through opportunities to participate in showcases (within national and international festivals), online and in-person presentations and pitch, support for planning, and finding funding lines for international touring of companies.
Is that not enough? The truth is, we don't want to spoil everything. 2024 isn't over yet. The best is yet to come. Let's stay connected, don't lose sight of each other, and don't forget to renew your membership. The association is its members.
